lop sided journalim about JK in Metro today

The Metro newspaper this morning had a small section about her calling her a transphobe and all that rubbish for her 1984 comment on twitter regarding scotland recording rapists as women, I was wondering if I am the only one who is emailing them to complain? the only email address I can find that I think is appropriate is the corrections of at [email protected]. that little piece makes me no longer want to pick up a copy of that rag at the tube station anymore even tho it is free.

I googled to see if it was online and came across this instead -

The writer has done her homework, and is spelling out quite a lot for her readers, for example

Figures show a dozen violent criminals and sex offenders have been housed in women’s jails in Scotland over the past year and a half alone."

And then is quite scathing about Radcliffe, Watson and Grint.

I expect more people read the Sun than Metro.

nah I couldnt find it on the metro website its just a little bit in the paper with all the keywords covered you know, transphobe, gender critical etc didnt mention the word woman once, or anything actually relevant like scotland letting rapists be recorded as women. just oh its that witch again.

Ha the thing about that article is that I think they are trying to be scathing but JKR just sounds really reasonable

They were in her face again last week after she used her Twitter account to mock a strategy by Police Scotland to log rapes by trans men as rapes by women if the attacker “identifies as a female”.

That's going to confuse readers.

This won't tho. Very hard hitting.

Rowling is completely right to suggest the move is Orwellian.

The policy belongs in a dystopian fantasy novel where men get to write out their sins from the history books while women are forced to bear the burden and atone for those sins.

To paraphrase Orwell: “The past is erased, the erasure is forgotten, the lie becomes the truth”.

That is what is happening before our very eyes.

I don't know, actually - what's the opposite of damning with faint praise? Praising with faint damning? Because that's what this metro article feels like. The tone if it reads as 'jk Rowling is banned from her own film for saying this very reasonable and sensible thing'. That's what I think, anyway.
