At the British Press Awards last night.

Brilliant news, and so well deserved. I was really unsure how it was going to play out on WH at first, but I think that's part of her skill. She keeps her cards close to her chest before drilling down points (as beautifully demonstrated in the Nancey Kelley interview) and has proved herself to be an incredible advocate for women this year.

Congratulations Emma, and thank you!

(Sorry, British Journalism Awards, that should be.)

Couldn’t have deserved it more. Well done Emma, and thank you for using your interview superpowers to support women!

JoodyBlue · 09/12/2021 08:36

I've been really impressed with her work this year. Pleased to hear this.

BoreOfWhabylon · 09/12/2021 08:57

So pleased for Emma. So well deserved.

Stephen Nolan and David Thompson next please.

HollowTalk · 09/12/2021 09:02

That is brilliant news. I was very wary when she joined woman's hour but she's been absolutely great.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 09/12/2021 09:52

Fantastic!

Very well deserved.

Congratulations Emma Flowers

Beamur · 09/12/2021 09:56

Excellent news.

EB is fabulous - and so is the clear statement that this award makes.

Remember all the fuss when Janice Turner got the Orwell Prize?

PaleGreenGhost · 09/12/2021 10:35

Yes Emma! FlowersWine

I'm going to drop an email to Woman's Hour congratulating her. So many good interviews - Nancy Kelley, Kathleen Stock, that 'Nations' numpty from the BBC.

nauticant · 09/12/2021 13:21

So pleased for Emma. So well deserved.

Stephen Nolan and David Thompson next please.

Other journalists will be looking on in envy realising that parroting the tenets of the gender identity ideology keeps you safe but does nothing for your standing as a journalist.

Be safe in the indistinguishable mass, become a propagandist on twitter and a parody of a journalist, or stand up and make a name for yourself.

Blimey what a lot of judges they have!Shock

I think one of the blokes in the photo is Jeremy Vine? Hopefully he's taking notice and will begin to have the courage to look behind the very uninformed view he currently has on this.

(After a deletion yesterday on the 100 Women thread I've rephrased that last bit several times, and self-censored what I was originally going to say. Tedious in the extreme.) Thank you Emma for your plain speaking - may it filter down and make it easier for the rest of us to express ourselves without feeling we're being gagged.

Woop, well done Emma!

Jeremy Vine isn't on that list.
DoubleTweenQueen · 09/12/2021 21:02

Very well deserved.

WinterTrees · 09/12/2021 21:18

Jeremy Vine isn't on that list.

On the BBC 100 women of the year list? Well no. But I think it's him in the photo with Emma Barnett? (correct me if I'm wrong...)

Fabulous! 👏👏👏

Clymene · 09/12/2021 22:43

I missed this! I'm absolutely delighted for her. She's really pushed boundaries in a way that I didn't think possible

girafferafferaffe · 09/12/2021 22:45

Excellent!!
