I’m not sure why the article headline word ‘risks’ needed to be in quotation marks. Surely locking women up with male rapists is unequivocally a risk to their safety?

Of course women being imprisoned with male rapists represents a risk. But that goes counter to the narrative.

The use of the term "transgender females" makes me very angry. Because women use "female" to define themselves, TRAs are now trying to co-opt this word.

Transwomen are men. They never have been, they aren't, they never will be and they can't be women or females. They can only ever be men.

Great they are doing this. The pushback from org formed to fight for rights of minorities / oppressed groups is disgraceful.

It's obviously going to be jumped on and loads will think oh transphobes again. This is really about transphobia. And there will be loads of accusations that they don't care about the women, are using them as an excuse to demonise all trans people.

It also opens that angle for those who oppose, within proceedings. Which may well swing opinion away from them in court.

I don't know how suing works there. Kind of court is there jury etc. Just whatever it is, gift to those disagreeing.

Also when that raised could well go off in that direction, unhelpful. More likely that will be reported that the women in prison.

The people who will point fingers over the use of accurate terminology will be against WOLF regardless. Look how mild Prof Stock is, and the opposition she has faced.

I personally think it's more important to use clear language because that will help the message get through to people who will agree and support them.

I totally know what you mean, and sometimes it can seem politically expedient to lay the game. I think there's room for a range of voices, but we really do need some to speak the unvarnished truth using clear, plain and honest language.

What we need is a website where every single one of these cases worldwide is documented.

What we need is for men to be called men. Not these euphamisms like 'transwomen' which suggest they are somehow women. Genderideologues constantly seek to blur language so the truth cannot be seen or spoken. But even there they trap themselves as whatever obnoxious phrase they use distinguish women - be is 'cis', 'menstruator', 'cervix-haver' - as soon as it is used that realise is distinguishes women from men again and that is not allowed.

The truth needs to be said even if that truth upsets someone. We have pandered to males with pronouns forbgar too long.

I've come to that conclusion, on the thread that has bounced in and out of FWR today.

I know I can't use the acronyms here but I will now only use trans identified male or female.

No more transwomen or transmen. I will take the extra time to type out the longer, less kind, more truthful description.

And sod anyone who chooses to report me.

I can’t seem to find it by googling but there was a study years ago now about transwomen in California prisons and it said they had committed much higher that average male population of sex offences/violent crimes.

Because basically men were caught for these crimes and identified as women.

I think it was that 20.5% of the trans prisoners in the survey were on the sex offender register, and I once went to look up whether you had to sign the register in California if you were convicted for prostitution, and it seemed you did not. This number was higher than the one for men as a whole.

Back to the comments on language capture, the word ‘transwoman’ is pretty woolly in itself, I think there are plenty of people who are not particularly tuned in to this subject who think a transwoman is a woman who is transitioning into a man. Ask them if trans women should be in women’s sports, prisons and spaces…
