Why would I need to say I'm a woman without saying I'm a woman?

DontBeADodo · 18/11/2021 17:44

Because it seems like you offend someone when you declare youre a woman. IE Pregnant person

I can think of only a few times I have had to say I am a woman and that has been on line.
In person never had to say it or had declare it on the phone.

People know who is a woman and who isn't the vast majority of the time. We don't need to list the reasons why we are women. That's something males need to do in order to convince society they are women and society knows the truth regardless of what they say.

We are female adults of the human race. Thats all that is required to be a woman. No more no less.

Anyone who gets offended by someone using the word woman needs to seriously get a grip especially if they think I should say that I birthed a baby rather than say I'm a woman ffs

I don't think this thread is in good faith tbh

Why not?

The OP does have a point. The word woman, when discussing things that only affect women, is being replaced by:

People who menstruate
Pregnant people
People who go through menopause
Pregnant parent

But it seems that these terms are not used by Joe public on a daily basis.
However the concern is that these terms are being used in policy/legal documents/womens support services/women's health services.

I belive if males can simply declare themselves women then does that make the word woman pointless?

I’ll just say I’m a woman thanks Hmm

Fishing for what?

I get that many many desperate people trawl mumsnet for examples of rampant transphobia that don't exist and will twist and doctor anything they find and it does make us very suspicious. That said I don't think we should shy away from discussing issues around sex and gender.
