Yet another new story about the influence of Stonewall in No. 10, of TRA senior advisors in No.10 and their involvement in rushing through a conversion therapy bill (which IS conversion therapy) to announce a good news story at the LGBTQ conference next year.

Boris Johnson warned of 'ludicrous contradiction' in his approach to Stonewall ahead of conference

Boris Johnson’s senior advisers are ‘letting Stonewall dictate trans policies. Nikki da Costa, who stood down as Johnson’s director of legislative affairs in August.

I can't see TRA's being able to pull off this sales pitch any more with all this sunlight can you? YET the biggest threat for our children and parents is if TRA's get 'gender identity' onto the statue books.

Whistleblowers everywhere now, and newspapers ready to report on it. What a change from a few years back.

themes...

  • "tensions between senior aide Henry Newman and Munira Mirza, .. Stonewall"
--The 2022 Government LGBTQ global equality conference IS a Stonewall conference - Safe to Be Me”. (so gender identity conference in other words) --Newman has promoted Stonewall Government- diversity scheme and Stonewall LGBT event at the Tory Party conference in October that Carrie Johnson spoke at
  • Lord Herbert, Mr Johnson’s special envoy on LGBT rights urged not pulling out of Stonewall and has Newman's backing
  • Lord Herbert says it's stoking a 'culture war'
  • Downing Street said the bid for the event had been submitted in 2018 and that it had no say on whether Stonewall was a partner
  • Insider says "we are hosting something with people who are going against Government policy, which would not happen anywhere else. Number 10 needs to fix this."

I feel there's a chance this won't now get through. But I'm not at all confident. Society is only very slowly starting to wake up to the consequences of adopting Stonewall's trans ideology, and I'm not sure it's in time to stop this Bill.

Desperately hope I'm being unnecessarily pessimistic though!

highame · 14/11/2021 07:51

The Conversion Therapy bill has a long way to run. I am more optimistic about the outcome, not least because of amendments. Don't forget, we have some good friends in HoL and HoC and they are growing in numbers.

Please can someone be clear for me on what we need to do to play our part?

borntobequiet · 14/11/2021 08:40

I suppose the usual writing to MPs is the first, most basic thing one can do, with links to as much evidence as possible, and there’s an increasing amount of that out there now.
MPs are very good at ignoring issues that are flying a little under the radar, but if they get a sniff of widespread public opprobrium (especially within their voter base) they change fast. My female Tory MP is very reluctant to depart from the party line and has been useless on this issue in the past, but she actually abstained on the parliamentary standards thing. I was amazed and wrote her a nice email for a change.

MsGoodenough · 14/11/2021 08:48

I'm not at all confident but I'm filling in the consultation now. We should all do that at least. Lots of advice from other threads and Sex Matters have done a good analysis of the issues with it. The tricky thing with answering the questions is you have to deconstruct the questions as they assume that LGB and T are the same thing. We need to explain that the affirmation approach to T is actually conversion therapy of LGB children. Also Stonewall telling lesbians they should be open to sleeping with men is also conversion therapy. I feel like I've ranted too much and need to go back and calm it down and provide more links for evidence.

ArabellaScott · 14/11/2021 08:50

If this is in the papers then I am guessing we are seeing the tip of a parliamentary iceberg? Surely everyone in govt is aware of the issues surrounding Stonewall and their lobbying and advice?

Sex Matters is giving a good steer but I'd like general guides for the responses.

For now, they're asking us to contact our MPs.

What you can do

Scan the QR Code above to see Transgender Trend guidance on responding to the Government Consultation on Conversion Therapy.
Give your feedback by 10 December 2021, via email: [email protected] or visit: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/banning-conversion-therapy
Encourage your MP to meet other groups who rely on evidence based data, rather than ideology, such as Transgender Trend, LGB Alliance, and not just outsource their brains to Stonewall. Good policy and law requires canvassing a large plurality of opinions and expertise.
Tell your MP to await the outcome of the Cass Review of gender identity services for children and young people, and call upon the government to withdraw this flawed consultation and/or #PressPause on their proposals with regards to gender identity (a malleable, subjective and unverifiable concept).
Remind all around you of the rights of minors to be protected from inadequate therapeutic services and experimental medical treatment (puberty blockers/ cross-sex hormones/ surgical transition).
Visit: sex-matters.org/ and safeschoolsallianceuk.org
Follow: @ThoughtfulTs & @Transgendertrd on Twitter for guidance and information on the implications of these Conversion Therapy Proposals

Fill in the Consultation.

Ask each member of your family and circle to fill in the Consultation - help them do it if necessary. The more responses that point out that 'gender identity' and current Stonewall ideology is (a) illogical bollocks, and (b) harmful, the better.

The Sex Matters website has a really good guide.

Lord Herbert is no supporter of women. He lacks empathy and understanding. He was my MP and I had a number of frustrating interactions with him. One involving breastfeeding in public where he refused to protect the rights of women to be able to breastfeed in public. Thankfully he wasn’t in the majority on this but I was dismayed at his appointment.

Will fill in the survey. Glad to see Liz Truss is involved in this

This is a quick way to draw your MP's attention to the issues and then it sends the email on your behalf and also attaches a pdf. outlining their very sensible thoughts.
Replying to the consultation is a different thing but there will no doubt be guidance on the website in due course.

A position like this needs a human who as you say has empathy and can grasp the basics of discrimination towards groups they don't belong to personally. Any senior role in LGBT needs someone who at least tries to understand dual discrimination (e.g. lesbians), triple discrimination, quadruple discrimination and conflicting human rights of any protected demographic.

Herbert is another tone deaf man appointed to serve demographics of people he refuses listen to, just like Crispin Blunt, Michael Cashman. A human who focuses on one cause (ideology) is an activist not a public servant.

This goes MUCH further than No.10 and the UK. LGB Alliance have alerted the public that UN plans could set back women's, children's and LGB rights back decades. (see LGBA thread) and when you see the players in this thread, you can see connections in other recent threads.

I'll start a new thread. But essentially 42 countries are part of the Equal Rights Coalition ERC and this is what Lord Herbert is an envoy to along with the foreign office minister Wendy Morton. The ERC's aim is to get the Argentinian style gender identity into the national laws and policies of 42 countries.

Argentina 2012 Gender Identity Law, recognises the self perceived identity of each person and their right to dignified treatment, regardless of the sex assigned at birth and their identification records.

Key players include Lord Herbert (Bori's LGBT envoy, friend of Crispin Blunt, Penny Mourdant, Cashman, previous LGBT APPG) working with TRA's at the Foreign Office, the UN, 42 ERC Member States, UN LGBT SOGI expert, Equal Rights Coalition ERC, Stonewall, Kaleidoscope International Trust and AFDA.

The conversion therapy bill is to get gender identity onto UK statute books as a first step and announce it at the Global Stonewall managed gender identity conference 'safe 2 be me' in London June 2022. That's why it's being rushed through for a draft bill in May 2022
