Can't really say I'm surprised but FFS when will people wake up to this.

Interesting isn't it that the student in the red shorts was physically able to prevent a further attack on his own whereas two girls went to the victim and probably couldn't between the two of them prevent a further attack in the same way, if at all.

NecessaryScene · 07/11/2021 09:48

This is one of the main problems with this "let a very occasional male into 'female' spaces" plan. In a properly mixed space, there's more likely to be another male who can help subdue any male troublemaker.

Lone males are the most dangerous males.

purpleboy · 07/11/2021 10:03

Yes one of the people quoted said how a skinny trans woman still easily overpowered the girl, even thought they looked a similar size.
Exactly what's been said all along about the difference in strength between men and women.

But but but there are no issues. This never happens

SquishySquirmy · 07/11/2021 10:18

Watching that, the main thought that struck me was "thank goodness she had support".
Because it could have been much worse, and she could have been seriously hurt.
Red shorted student pulled the attacker off, and stopped the attacker going in a second time. He was able to do so effectively, and using a proportionate amount of force.
Other students pick the girl up and help her.
Sadly, I can imagine that in certain schools in certain countries this may not play out in the same way.

Even with adults, when I think of a couple of "TWAW" beardy blokes I know, they would not step in so quickly to help a woman being beaten in this way. They identify as feminists (natch) but I think would be reluctant to intervene... because they wouldn't want to physically restrain a woman, and "twaw".

I thought that - looked like he was swatting a fly.
PlasticPlantsDontDie · 07/11/2021 10:31

Kudos to the girl who, even after being beaten, stood up to shout for her principles.

KittenKong · 07/11/2021 10:35

Women are angry. Decisions have been made when the risks have been pointed out time and time again. It’s so frustrating to be told that you are the danger to the other person.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 07/11/2021 11:08

Yes. Her words were so much more dangerous than his foot stomping.

NotBadConsidering · 07/11/2021 11:44

Number of cases needed before they admit there’s a problem = n + 1, where n is all of the cases so far.

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 07/11/2021 11:53

god that boy was vicious
he was somewhere he had no business to be and beat the shit out of a girl for pointing it out

you are not a woman indeed

ScrollingLeaves · 07/11/2021 12:02

Why was the male attacker’s bra showing and his shirt half off does any one know?

Theeyeballsinthesky · 07/11/2021 12:05

Well I’m astonished - I mean this never happens!!!

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 07/11/2021 12:07

Good for Red Shorts.

Artichokeleaves · 07/11/2021 12:13

What strikes me? The viciousness and the force of that downward stamp. And how while the girl fights back, another girl tries to help, two females are struggling with this attacking male - the male in the red shorts grabs the attacker with one arm and just swings him aside.

Can we all stop the fairytales now please?

If male people want alternatives to male provisions then go and sort them out, they should not be in female single sex spaces.

purpleboy · 07/11/2021 12:50

I wonder what will happen going forward in this school? Will the girl be punished for "being mean" and calling out the man in the woman's toilets? Will they realise women are not comfortable with this? Or will. The TW be allowed to continue to use the woman's toilets?

Yup.
NewlyGranny · 07/11/2021 14:03

Scrolling leaves, I wondered about the attacker being partly clothes, but I speculate that the victim's friends may have tried to pull the attacker off by the sweatshirt, which looks a bit loose and oversize.

I loved the way the victim's friends flanked her and the three of them told the attacker what was what! Whatever the Portuguese is for ,"Be kind, be quiet, forget your rights," they were clearly well past listening.

If a transgirl is afraid to use the boys' toilets for fear if being beaten up, you'd think they'd make certain they weren't replicating the problem themselves in the girls'!

NewlyGranny · 07/11/2021 14:07

Oh, and if the attack had stayed behind the girls' toilet door and not spilled into the corridor, what then? If our red-shorts hero had not been handy, the victim could have been looking at a ride in an ambulance with a skull fracture.

Girls' underwear, boys' level of aggression.

HH76ds31 · 07/11/2021 14:47

Now that is #literalviolence

DidoDino · 07/11/2021 14:53

This English translation says that courageous girl got up and shouted "You are not a woman" 💪🏾

LondonWolf · 07/11/2021 14:56

Brave girls to carry on shouting their rights as they did. Red Shorts treated him like the man that he is and it was refreshing to see it, thank goodness he was there. Now we just have to wait in apprehension for the next time this happens - because it will - but maybe no decent bloke around to help out Sad

Doubletoilandtrouble · 07/11/2021 15:05

That attack was so vicious and so awful. That poor girl. She never had a chance, not even when her female friends stepped in.

I think this should be shown far and wide - together with the Loudoun rape - so that people realise that single sex spaces need to stay single sex.

LonginesPrime · 07/11/2021 15:11

It's appalling that schools, employers and public services are pitting women and transwomen against each other and letting us literally battle it out on a daily basis.

The mismanagement of all of this by the bodies in charge is criminal.

I absolutely agree with you. It infuriates me that people continue to claim there is no real difference between men and women (usually when advocating for men to take over women's sports places).

My 12 year old son is now the same height as me (5 foot 5 inches) and very slim. He's also already a lot stronger than me.

Male puberty is an advantage and it's unfair to put women and girls in the vulnerable position of being on the receiving end of their advantage.
