As the mother of adult daughters I just feel sick when I hear more details. The Met handled this so badly, the institutional racism involved in the mismanagement of the investigation is staggering. Those lovely young women....

An horrific event made so much worse by those who were supposed to help 😡

NoToast · 28/10/2021 19:29

No words really. A horrific case and what other outcome regarding sentencing was likely. I'm so sorry for the women and their families and friends.

FloralBunting · 28/10/2021 19:38

Can I just say thank you so much for putting their names in the title, not his. Their mother spoke with such dignity. I was sobbing.

GreySweater · 28/10/2021 19:45

@FloralBunting

I felt exactly the same. Their Mother spoke so movingly today. It was incredibly emotional and powerful to hear. I wish her and her family much strength and love.
teawamutu · 28/10/2021 19:48

Wishing Bibaa and Nicole's family some measure of peace and as much healing as is humanly possible.

Let the killer's name be forgotten.

Siablue · 28/10/2021 19:50

This is so heartbreaking.

Mina Smallman has so much courage snd has acted with such dignity throughout the many failings of the way the police handled the case.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 28/10/2021 19:51

I've never forgotten the footage of those beautiful, blithe young women, dancing in the park, minutes before this horror.

I wish peace of heart to their families.

sashagabadon · 28/10/2021 19:54

Good he got a life sentence and the family seemed pleased with the sentence too. Their mother spoke with such bravery, I don’t know how she can deal with the injustice of it all.
RIP to Bibaa and Nicole

MonsignorMirth · 28/10/2021 19:56

Absolutely sickening that this happened. Rest in peace Nicole and Bibaa.

IHateCoronavirus · 28/10/2021 19:57

Agree, the way Nicole and Biba’s mother spoke was inspirational. Breathtaking courage.

InspiralCoalescenceRingdown · 28/10/2021 20:08

No words Flowers

Purpletomato · 28/10/2021 20:23

So sad. And so badly handled by the police. I hope Nicole and Bibaa's family finds peace.

ArabellaScott · 28/10/2021 21:03

I don't know his name, don't care to. Just wanted to post in tribute to their families. Thoughts with them tonight.

Can’t tell you how it made me feel. To have your daughters murdered

So sad. For their mum and all their family

Such a loss just awful

MrsOvertonsWindow · 28/10/2021 21:30

Like all the women and mothers on here I feel for Mina Smallman. Such a terrible crime.
Let's hope that all those police officers who made her experience so much worse by their vile disrespectful behaviour also receive significant punishment.

MassiveHoard · 28/10/2021 21:39

Heart breaking. By which I'm referring to their horrific deaths, and also unfortunately to the response of the police and the British press. I've no idea how, as a mother, you carry on after that.

LessthanJurassicPark · 28/10/2021 21:49

What an amazing woman

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 28/10/2021 22:09

Rest in peace Bibaa and Nicole.

What Mina and the rest of their family have been put through is beyond comprehension.

FlibbertyGiblets · 28/10/2021 22:24

Rest in peace Nicole and Bibaa, we say your names.
And to Mina, I admire your strength and courage, I have heard you speak so beautifully over the months since your daughters were taken. You are a remarkable woman. I am thinking of you and your family tonight.

I have no words for the pos perpetrator, none, and not many for the woeful police response and the aftermath.

Thefartingsofaofdenmarkstreet · 28/10/2021 22:31

Their mum has been so dignified throughout, but her grief and rage are palpable.

RIP Nicole and Bibaa.

TheVanguardSix · 28/10/2021 22:43

Flowers Their mother has worked tirelessly and with such fierce mother's love to firewall their dignity and ensure their justice.

BrandineDelRoy · 28/10/2021 22:46

I'm disappointed he'll probably get out with decades yet to live free.

catzwhiskas · 29/10/2021 07:59

Not enough time for the perpetrator ,
Total sympathy for their family and disgust for what happened after their deaths . Unspeakable horror.

TheBeardedVulture · 29/10/2021 08:12

The pictures of the girls at the party make me so sad- they both looked so happy and like they were having a wonderful time.

RIP Bibaa and Nicole.

LizzieSiddal · 29/10/2021 08:51
