Letter in support of BPAS and sex based language

Recently the charity BPAS showed they had a backbone by making a statement about their use of the word woman - expect most of you saw it.
They've had a backlash in the form of an open letter against them which got 300 signatures.
This new open letter from With Woman has gained nearly 850 sigs since yesterday 3.30pm and rising.
Anyone can sign it and it's a way to show not just solidarity with the wonderful BPAS but also to make a vote for sex based language.

Thanks for posting. Very good letter.

I also want to point out that Maternity Action have also taken a similar position on sexed language. They haven't made a policy statement like bpas, but they were publicly against the wording of the bill on ministerial maternity leave, and were supportive of those Lords who argued to put 'mother' back in the Bill.

I think it's important to support any orgs who do this even if what they do is small. Reward good behaviour!

Brilliant, signed. Thanks for sharing. I posted about this elsewhere but this evening I have been on Dr Louise Newson’s new Balance website for menopause, which has entirely erased the word “women” and replaced with “individuals experiencing peri menopause and menopause”, and “people”. I wish all health care professionals had the balls of BPAS.
