Prof Jo Phoenix claims she has been made a pariah by colleagues and subject to harassment for two years that has made her life unbearable.
Prof Phoenix said things started to go "horribly wrong" at the Open University when she spoke up about "the silencing of academic debate on trans issues" two years ago.
The professor, who is an expert in sex, gender and justice and the university"s criminology chairman, intends to take the Open University to a tribunal for harassment and discrimination. A crowd funder appeal has already raised £55,000.
