What happened to the Women and Equalities Committee inquiry on the GRA?

Remember the Women and Equalities Committee starting an inquiry, last year, into government plans to reform the Gender Recognition Act? We had to get our responses in by 27 November 2020, which I know a lot of us did. I can't remember the exact number, but there were well over 1000 responses.

The committee said they would publish all responses, and started putting them online last December. But it's been 10 months now, and only 847 have been published, most recently in June. I know you could ask for your response not to be published, but I didn't do that, and mine hasn't yet appeared. I wonder what's happened to all the others?

Two Mumsnet threads on this subject seem to have disappeared:

Anyone know any more about this? Thanks.

Same. Still waiting for mine to go online.

Same here. I think the whole thing may be quietly forgotten about now with the recent sunlight.

Mine still isnt published. I had asked to be anonymous - I had wondered if we might be the last to be published but this is crazy. I might chase if I can.

Thanks, OldCrone.

I really hope all those responses will be published. We need every chance we can get to put our case clearly.

Still waiting for mine to be published. Suspect they're shelving it because of the balance of responses, especially since EHRC is moving on single sex spaces.

There's no way they can recommend a strategy or change without publishing them surely.

To answer the OP's question in the thread title, the report is 'forthcoming'. This I gleaned from the Committee's report into the Government Equalities Office (GEO) as part of 'Levelling up and equality', dated 24th September:
"Specific recommendations following on from our inquiry into GRA reform will be made in our forthcoming Report."

This was in a section about GEO engagement with stakeholders on 'balanced rights issues' which states (in part):

"A lack of effective engagement with different groups at different times during the protracted, acrimonious and sometimes violent debate around reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) was a theme both in this inquiry and our concurrent inquiry into GRA reform. Organisations campaigning for women’s sex-based rights complained of a lack of constructive engagement around the time of the Government’s LGBT survey, Action Plan and its GRA reform consultation, launched in 2018. More recently, transgender rights groups have noted a lack of engagement from current GEO ministers, since the Government announced in September 2020 that it did not intend to make legislative changes in response to the consultation. In our oral evidence session examining the suspension of the GEO’s LGBT Advisory Panel, the LGBT Foundation told us that early in her tenure the current Minister for Women and Equalities had been clear “she was not looking to engage with individual identity groups or stakeholder groups”. When we questioned the minister about this, she emphasised that the issue was “fundamentally a difference of opinion” on GRA reform".

On the question you raised about the number of responses to the committee inquiry, Caroline Nokes mentioned in a letter that it had received over 2000 pieces of written evidence. I have no idea what has happened to yours and others that haven't been published.
