Advice needed: reasons not to support Stonewall

HI, can I ask for advice to give to a teacher who has been asked to display Stonewall poster in their classroom. I'm aiming to put together a coherent list of points that can be either sent directly to management or shared to wider staff to explain reasons for not wanting to endorse Stonewall.
So far I have:

  1. They are campaigning to remove sex as a protected characteristic
  2. They misrepresent the current PCs, replacing sex and gender reassignment with gender and gender reassignment
  3. Public bodies have been asked by Liz Truss to withdraw from Stonewall
  4. Essex university sought expert legal advice and were told that they had unlawfully excluded GC feminists
5 They campain to limit free speech.

I know there are loads of other things but can't think of them now. Can anyone tell me what else I've missed?

They campaign to remove the "sex by deception" offence when it applies to trans people in the name of "privacy".

They are offending many LGB people by defining homosexuality based on gender rather than sex.

They are offending many transsexuals by including cross dressers under the trans umbrella.

They are one political campaigning organisation. Were called “THE STONEWALL LOBBY GROUP LIMITED” Does the teacher plan to show others? What other campaign groups does the teacher plan to platform?

Veryverycalmnow · 27/09/2021 21:36

Oh no! Why on earth are they being asked to do that?

GoodieMoomin · 27/09/2021 21:39

They are trying to redefine homosexuality from same sex attraction to same 'gender' attraction. This effectively implies that gay men and lesbians are/should be bisexual

senua · 27/09/2021 21:39

What age group are we talking about?

This is a good strategy. Why Stonewall? Why not something on [any other topic]?

It seems to be led by one individual woke teacher rather than coming from management. Hence it's important to get some good accurate information to the leadership at this stage so they don't just go along with it blindly

Stonewall is a political lobby group and schools are legally required to be politically neutral.

Transgender Trend has analysed some of the dire materials Stonewall have produced for schools:

Cazziebo · 27/09/2021 21:50

As @MrsOvertonsWindow says, it's a political lobby group and it's unsupported by many from the groups it purports to represent, particularly lesbians but also an increasingly large group of gay men.

Stonewall has been misrepresenting the Equality Act and giving unreliable and unlawful information to organisations with the result that many of these organisations have now withdrawn their support (eg Channel 4, the Cabinet Office, Ofcom, EHRC)

Jaysmith71 · 27/09/2021 21:52

It's a protection racket. You pay for pats on the head, then pay for inspections to see you are doing what you are told, then pay again for a certificate that shows this.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 27/09/2021 22:48

You make an important point sharksarecool So often these initiatives are led by an enthusiastic member of staff and with everyone having be kind tattooed on their foreheads, challenging this is both scary and requires knowledge.
This is a long read but the Legal feminist did an analysis of the potential reputational damage for employers of getting involved with the Stonewall protection racket. There are some points that would relate to schools - particularly regarding the mangling of law.

They’re looking to ban ‘conversion therapy’ but the definition is so broad there are concerns this could mean it would be immoral and illegal to question or counsel anyone, even over irreversible medical treatment. There’s also moral questions about if we are ‘convertimg’ gay to straight etc.

OperationDessertStorm · 27/09/2021 23:02

There’s the treatment of Allison Bailey.

There pushing the changing of language ie sex to gender, mother to birthing person etc

StillWeRise · 27/09/2021 23:10

some of their founding members have disowned them
