She'll get Spotify-sized royalties of franctions of a penny for each 99p sale, but pusing it to No.1 will generate more sales in itself.

I read Faye's book. It's basically a long list of dodgy stats about how downtrodden trans people are, a lot of which are referenced to media articles. The whole thing is just emotional blackmail really.

Great news. I actually bought a second book copy yesterday, don't have a kindle. I saw the faye book on the bestseller shelf, no sign of Helen's book and that's why I decided to buy another copy. The teller trotted off no problem to get it for me when I asked.

I will happily buy Shon's book if that too comes down to 99p / £1.99 on Google (don't do Amazon), I think it is important for balance.

Exactly how I felt - bit the bullet and coughed up for it but only managed to get through it by writing increasingly irritable notes in the margin. My favourite bit was when Faye explained that feminism was pointless and impossible. Or was it when Faye said that there were plenty of other ways to define "woman" that didn't rely on biological essentialism but didn't volunteer a single one...? Ugh.
