People often say that the biology-denying extremes of gender ideology are as crazy as flat-earthery. In my new novel, out on Kindle today, I explore how you might foist flat-earth beliefs on the world in the way that gender ideologues have performed their own spectacular capture.

finished chapter 1 last night - really enjoying it!

Book looks interesting, I'm off to Amazon, I need something to lighten my mood about gender ideology.

Did you see this on his Twitter feed? Note the use of the word males.

My copy arrived a couple of days ago, looking forward to reading it.

I loved it - really clever and astute.

LazyViper · 10/08/2021 08:49

Thanks for the link, just bought it. It’ll be nice to laugh about all this for a bit, instead of roar with fury Grin

Hoping4second · 10/08/2021 08:51

I read it, it's laugh out loud level of funny

ScreamingMeMe · 10/08/2021 09:05

Awesome. Have bought a copy. I love Julie Bindel's quote on the cover.

There is a great body of literature growing up, which is great as it feels good to read things in print rather than online - the words have more authority. I was going to buy one of the more heavyweight volumes but thought I could do with a laugh instead. So I read the first four chapters online and it is very good, just need my copy to arrive.

I will get onto the other books but in its way this is just as important as it fixes in your mind just how bloody ridiculous this all is. The madness of this ideology does bear heavy but lightens the load.

I've been yearning to "educate" my very woke daughter, but felt that a gift of "Trans" might be viewed as a bit passive aggressive, so I think this might be the one to go for (and she likes a good story).....

beastlyslumber · 10/08/2021 11:56

I've got the paperback on pre-order. Looks fab!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/08/2021 12:50

I read this a few weeks ago and started a thread recommending it- I think it’s great.
It’s very well observed, it clarified a few things for me about how bad actors manipulate Twitter, and about how you get people to start agreeing out loud with things they don’t really believe.
In my head I have started to think of genderists as biological flat earthers and am just waiting for a chance to call someone that in RL…

I really enjoyed this book. Identity Crisis by Ben Elton is another good one

I meant to share this, too.

Simon Edge on the Savage Minds Podcast. Julian has interviewed lots of other interesting people too, including Simon Fanshawe, Dr Julia Long, Sue and Marcus Evans, Helen Joyce...

I had that sensation reading it too - that feeling of, this whole thing really is so silly. It made me feel better about it, because you spend so much time trying to reason with people who take it seriously, and then you think, C'mon, surely people will eventually see how ridiculous this all is?

Plus it was quite educational - I learnt at least two useful things, namely what the orange peel map is and how bots work.

I also recommend Identity Crisis by Ben Elton, really funny and clever.
