Just found this article in the Guardian I though non-binary was a gender identity category?

Apparently humans with Klinefelter Syndrome have been appropriated to the cause?

If someone carried a sword that big you’d call them whatever they told you to call them, wouldn’t you? And it would not have been “non binary” I bet.

I have just read that article and was so annoyed by the modern take on "gender identity" being imposed on a corpse from 1000 years ago that I was ranting to my DP about it.

The interesting fact that the researchers seem to have found out is that the grave contained a man with Klinefelter Syndrome, ie had XXY chromosomes rather than just XY. They have no idea about how severe or not the condition was, as the remains are so degraded. They also have no idea how this man identified or thought of himself, nor how others thought of him. Other than being high status given the goods he was buried with.
