Tweet from Woman's Hour this morning about a possible new treatment for 'people who struggle with heavy periods'

It really is something when Woman's hour can't even name women. They are getting proper ratioed in the replies though.

Ok so either.

The woman in woman's hour means gender ID
In which case they sound not talk about periods at all because the prog means Identity as a woman which excludes transwomen, non binary women, women of other gender identities or none.

The woman in woman's hour means sex.
In which case they sound change the name to hour for those in the group of humans with vaginas.
Or similar.

As with all this stuff.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Anything else is cowardly and hypocritical.

Just looking at WH Twitter.

V recent tweet. Girls?!
Kayley is 31!!!!
Can't find info about Hannah.

Calling a 31 yo who competes in sport a girl is shitty. She's an adult who has worked and worked for years FFS.

'On today's podcast: Will the girls who’ve smashed it in the new urban sports of skateboarding and BMX at the #Olympics inspire a generation of girls to take up sport? Skateboard We chat to BMX freestyler Kayley Ashworth and skateboarder Hannah Shrewsbury bbc.in/3ywzDXo'

I'm using my holiday clearing out of crap time to catch up on wh and I have to say that EB was very snide about someone texting in to suggest it changed its name to peoples hour. Also query if that listener was being facetious.

(Awks moment when ds 8 caught a bit on misandry and asked what it was. Managed to steer towards sexism and discussion of that.)

I've had a reply to my complaint. It reads:

'Thank you for contacting us about a tweet from the Woman's Hour programme.

We’ve shared your feedback about the wording of the tweet with our programme team.

The item on the programme itself referred to women, and occasionally used other language to reflect the full range of experience which Woman’s Hour listeners share with us.

We continue to monitor all feedback we receive to make sure Woman’s Hour represents the breadth of its audiences and is a place for discussion of a variety of viewpoints and experiences.'

Same reply to me despite the fact that I specifically complained about the tweet.
