Does anyone know what happens to our old posts when we select the delete our account option?

You might get a quicker response if you ask in site stuff or report this thread.

I think each post shows the user name but the message in the post says
‘Post removed at users request’ or very similar wording.

They stay.

If you want them all to go you ask and have to give a really good reason.

Otherwise a lot of old threads including classics and really useful ones would be unreadable.

Hi OP, I was outed about 4 years ago and asked mnhq about what to do and they very kindly deleted all the posts under the user name I was using at that time, replacing the name with something different and "withdrawn" messages in place of the posts.

They even went as far as to not delete them only on a v funny thread I was on. As it wouldn't have made any sense!

Occasionally a post on an old thread mentioned me by name but it was hard to follow what was going on and not on the main thread I was concerned about.

It was exceptionally kind of them but it was a work related outing and also extremely personal info relating to my at that point unknown pregnancy and miscarriage.
