Haven't read it fully yet, I just emerged from one hell of a migraine, but I think it will be well worth reading:

Thank you I enjoyed that although the interview could do with a little less RC!

Hope you're fully recovered soon Ig Flowers

That's a really beautiful article. I love the way they both speak and write. I'm a massive CNA fan and have been ever since I read Half of a Yellow Sun 10 years ago. She just goes up and up in my estimations. What I wasn't expecting was how much I would indetify with what what both Coles and Adichie say about grief. The whole thing is beautiful.

I can relate to a lot of it having lived away from my family for almost 30 years and missed being there for a few deaths in the family.

I'm alright now, thanks Gibbons, headache and nausea is gone but I feel utterly exhausted.

Thanks for sharing this. I love both of them and enjoyed the article. Rev Coles book the Madness of Grief about the death of his partner is very good. Glad that he did not shy away from addressing the issues she has faced recently.

There have been two overwhelming emotions in my life. Grief was one of them. It'll never go away.

I'm some ways I think we might be born with it when one or both of our parents are already struggling with it themselves.

FloralBunting · 17/07/2021 22:31

Pessimistic optimist indeed. Beautiful.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 18/07/2021 09:46

That is such an insightful exploration of grief.
