How the economy is built by, for, and around men and masculinity.

An interesting article by the author of a new book. (Guardian, sorry).

Interesting, thanks.

Fascinating article (excerpt from her book). Also pointing out the current attitude that "haha, those sillies, couldn't see a good invention because it wasn't manly. We're sooo much smarter." Meanwhile, only diesel utes are manly and worrying about the environment is a candyassed thing to do, etc etc etc.

Very good read. Now all we need to do is actually start listening to all the women shouting the answers we need while nobody is listening.

Sigh, very interesting thank you. While I am glad for books like that and the Invisible Women one, I wish they weren't so painfully true!

Yes, Nutella, it's frustrating. But a good illustration if why gender is harmful and why listening to women and pursuing equitable societies is a Good Thing.

In the Guardian?

Really interesting. Thank you.

We still have male-dominated industries not interested in dealing with the fact that women influence 80% of all consumer decisions.

We all know women are the majority drivers for everyday consumer issues.

Food.
Utility contracts.
Spas.
Clothing.
Leisure activities.

When MN women say they'll boycott certain products, MRAs and TRAs sneer and mock, but boycotts do work. A huge part of change in the South African government years ago was everyday women boycotting SA products.

Companies/industries are fools to ignore women really.

GAP. Mothercare. Debenhams. Starbucks.

Car companies. Insurance companies etc should (should) take note.

In the Guardian?

I know, right?
