The Law Society & single sex spaces

Not before time, the LS has revised its policy on single-sex spaces. Notwithstanding the overwhelmingly GC tone of the comments on this article (and the separate one about pronouns guidance) the Society still subscribes to the Stonewall kool-aid. One commentator has even pointed out the inherent legal inaccuracies in the 'diversity championship' manifesto. It's laughable that the solicitor's professional body can't apply the law accurately and fairly.
The membership isn't all pale, stale and male: first and foremost they're lawyers and they obviously get it. Maybe, they weren't (and haven't been) consulted on the Stonewall issue because the high hedyins at the LS knew they'd get given short shrift?

Its infuriating, isn't it. They know that only people directly impacted can challenge it under equality laws, and it costs tens of thousands of pounds to go to court.

Thing is they should have known that its also illegal to try to persuade other people to breach equality laws.

Reminds me a bit of the churlish response by the TUC to Maya's court case.
The misogyny at the heart of these organisations is uncomfortable to see.
They could have said 'hey, we've got this slightly wrong, here's the right advice, make sure that it's safe for everyone' whereas what I'm getting is a sulky vibe that the mean women have made it difficult.
