So what are the lessons? First, Twitter accounts are a powerful part of corporate identity so don’t outsource them to interns or freelance fools with the political nous of 12-year-olds. Tweeters should not merrily bypass your own decision-making protocols, inventing policy on the hoof. (How shaming that the RA had to hold an emergency meeting of distinguished academicians to recommit to free speech, a core value dumped in one rash Instagram post.)
This was so strong and so right.
