Feminist Book Society discussing 'female desire'

One third of the panel for this event was born male. AIBU to think that the topic of female desire - overlooked, misunderstood and suppressed throughout history - would be better served by a panel of natal females?

No we need males because otherwise we get things wrong

Somebody has to be on the panel to guard against wrongthink.

One of them might accidentally associate a vagina, vulva or clitoris with the female body or talk about the female orgasm without mentioning a penis.

That of course would never do.

So you can know all about female desire because you just feel like you do? Female desire is unapologetically linked to the female body. Otherwise it's just 'desire'. Idiots.

Can you imagine the outcry if a panel on this topic had a man on it? I just don't get how this is different. Confused

At a stretch, and I'm being generous here, maybe a straight man would have something to add from the perspective of having relationships with women.

Juno however is well known for their former life as a gay man. So presumably Juno doesn't even have that angle to fall back on. Therefore I have to assume Juno will be talking about male desire that identifies as female desire.

Hit the nail on the head there. There's nothing further to add really!

Is female desire not dependent on having female sex body parts? So how can someone with male sex body parts discuss this?
