www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/jun/02/instead-of-believing-my-reports-of-pain-experts-told-me-to-have-a-baby-or-see-a-psychiatrist

Read this this morning and am broadly in agreement with the sentiments and experiences addressed - am lucky enough not to have suffered the same sort of conditions, but have been offered anti-depressants on more than one occasion when seeking advice about pain symptoms before any sort of investigation has been done, so the sentiment resonates.

It did strike me as sad though that a disclaimer had to be added at the bottom.

The disclaimer is hilarious... did they really check the gender of every woman invoked or did they just assume ?

And, seriously, for what definition of gender?

Sometimes, social roles and expectations are important in understanding results. However, I couldn't be too surprised if a number of regular FWR posters are gender non-conforming which doesn't make anyone cis- by default and many would actively reject such categorisations.

Decent piece about pain, it has to be said.
