Have Twitter been stonewalled?

Yes I was suspended, and still am, for saying that I believe that it is bigoted and misogynistic for trans women to insist they are lesbians and to threaten lesbians with rape or death for saying that lesbians are not male.

I have been told I will be reinstated if I remove my hate speech. But obviously no issue with the death or rape threats! Or the blatant homophobia!

I mean even without Stonewall's influence, it's run by a bunch of beardy woke blokes, it's very easy for them to shut down women's speech and pat themselves on the back for being progressive. California has disappeared so far up its' own arsehole.

The reality is that MN is a really rare place, where (mainly) women can discuss and debate many different topics - obviously FWR is super duper moderated, which is frustrating. But the fact that it is a majority female space means MN is hated by men really.

You imply that the users who have been permanently banned for "hateful conduct" or "targeted harassment" regarding the abuse of gay or trans users of Twitter have actually been banned because Twitter is in Cali and Cali is the state of plastic surgery?

I don't really buy that someone is marginalised and vulnerable when they gleefully post about raping and forcibly impregnating women. Nope.

I am permanently banned from twitter for asking a NB why they didnt just say they are an individual.

Twitter is a misogynistic site, I got banned around the same time some high profile bloke talked about pushing a feminist down the stairs and waiting for the bounce. he didnt get banned.

I am actually rather greatfull to be off that toxic dump, it was making my blood boil seeing woman after woman getting frightened to say boo to a goose while men are free to threaten whomever and say whatever.

one of the issues I found is that people use it as a control thing, I realised that after I got a temp ban for saying a rude thing about Boris Johnson in a conversation with some like minded lefties it was all rather tongue in cheek, the ban was about 2 months later meaning someone noticed it and reported it.

Was it a blue tick? I feel we need to coordinate complaints to both twitter and government about abusive blue ticks

Twitter did not take down the accounts of 3 activists who doxxed JKR's address. Instead, Twitter is silencing women in it's misogynist machine settings

Twitter have changed settings so that #istandwithJKR and #WomenWontWheesht do not autopopulate for some people

I wonder if it is that MN relies more on commercial advertising and so is more vulnerable to campaigns targeting the advertisers?

This is a minor complaint in the grand scheme of things but my 'likes' don't stick if I'm liking a GC post. I can like other types of post without any problem.

A Twitter employee has written code to make this happen.

I recently rejoined Twitter - after a long break to save my mental health - so that I could read links (after they stopped me being able to without being a member).

Sadly was sucked in again and I just can't believe the utter batshit craziness of people.

I am going to have to delete my account again.... It's like being irresistibly drawn towards a gaping black hole.... I know I shouldn't look but I just... can't... help... myself...

Including rats in with a conversation about twitter is an insult to rats.

I could make another account I dont have a fixed IP address, but screw twitter its a horrible place let them drown under the weight of their misogyny.

I felt so much better after a week off of that place I felt so much more relaxed and its not like I stopped using social media I just used others more, that highlighted how awful twitter is and willfully so.

I have seen some truly astonishing bans of various lengths on Twitter, all aimed at women saying something rather vanilla or perhaps mentioning a biological fact. It would be good if someone did proper research on the misogynist bias Twitter's moderation demonstrates.

For instance group suspect hypothetical tweets (however defined) into some objective categories (perhaps derived from a panel of all types of people's giving their rankings) and then compare real examples of banned tweets to those, to see if the same tweet by a woman and a man with the same level of following gets the same banning decision.

The other day I saw someone banned for posting the abstract of a biological study from a mainstream academic journal, though the decision was later revoked. I think the banning came because some fierce trans activist misinterpreted the meaning of one of the scientific terms the abstract used and thought it was hate-speech.

I agree that volume research on what Twitter is doing would be useful.
