Boys Vs Women in Sport

This got linked to in comments about a new report i saw. Figured, if you haven't seen it yet, it might be useful the next time you have to try and argue with someone who declares that there is no difference between men and women in sport.

That is such a great website. Encouraging to see USA Today covering it

Wow. Wow. So that's where we women are in the graph, in athletic terms - below the level of a 14-year-old boy!!
No wonder then that the men bracket us (mentally) along with children. That's where we are, physically.

Well I'm off running right now, and I will hold in my mind that the only sport that we can (just!) beat the kids in is the marathon

Bloody hell that's an absolutely brilliant tool for our debates isn't it!!

FFS when will the world of sport wake up!!!!!

DH coaches rugby and agrees with me but not strongly enough to actually do anything about it . So I posed the question - what about if DD (who at 6 is thoroughly enjoying rolling around in mud and calling it rugby!) is playing as a teen and comes up against a transwoman. He said he'd walk the whole team off the pitch.

So that's encouraging on one hand - but disheartening that he'd be happy to wait until it gets that personal before taking any action.

It will, of course, be used to pay women in sport even less than they do now (compared with men).
