I knew nothing about this, poor poor woman

www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57199018

I thought it was interesting and sad she said this:

Now 35, the singer said she would never name her attacker.

"I understand this #MeToo movement, I understand that some people feel really comfortable with this, and I do not," she continued. "I do not ever want to face that person again."

It goes to show some of the barriers women have to reporting their rapes Sad

I've just seen this too. She is very strong and brave to speak out imo.

I know so many women who've been through abuse and have all those physical symptoms and the disassociated feelings. I imagine it will he helpful for many to hear that someone else has been through this.

So very sad, I don't know much about her, did she keep the baby?
The trauma just stays with you forever, and the smallest thing can trigger those memories, I'm so glad she is finding a way to heal.

She’s amazing. And helping others like her by speaking out so publicly.

SunsetBeetch · 21/05/2021 18:05

Oh god that's awful Sad

Erikrie · 21/05/2021 18:26

That's horrible.

Lottapianos · 21/05/2021 18:27

Horrified for her. Hope she has really good people around her

QuentinBunbury · 21/05/2021 22:48

It's so sad isn't it, and goes to show that even the most outwardly successful people aren't immune from horrible events.

I think she's been so brave too and I hope she has support. I know she has dogs so they are probably a help

Lady Gaga does not have any children, and she was 19 years old trying to break into the music industry, so presumably not.

Letsgetreadytocrumble · 21/05/2021 23:14

Although I don't really see how it's relevant tbh.

ChattyLion · 22/05/2021 22:34

I was so sorry to hear this had happened to her. Honestly professional music and acting seem like hostile environments for women.
