Essex Uni have been criticised for policies based on 'Stonewall Law' rather than the actual law. Stonewall have come back and said this:

“Our advice on the Equality Act is based on guidance provided by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, which was recently reaffirmed in the High Court.”

Is it the case that their advice is fully consistent with what the (updated) EHRC guidance says, or is this hogwash? Link to full article here:

Also of note. In Anne Sinnott's court case a few weeks ago, the EHRC said no organisation had misinterpreted the law based on its guidance. According to this article, both Stonewall and Essex Uni did exactly that!
