ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 19/05/2021 20:22

Sonia Appleby is safeguarding lead at GIDS and is now taking them to an Employment Tribunal over their behaviour when she raised safeguarding concerns as a Whistleblower. Whistleblowing concerns are protected disclosures and should be able to be made without fear of detriment.

She does have a veg patch too which is mentioned in the Twitter link.

Thanks, just dug again. Only 3 days left!

I only have a trowel, but made a little hole.

Chrysanthemum5 · 26/05/2021 12:40

Thank you - I've just had a little dig in the allotment. Only that specific one mind, there was CJ seed bed attached but I removed that

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 26/05/2021 12:45

Yes - I remove the other seed bed too.

(They are going to look bloody stupid if AB wins her case.)

Just wanted to highlight again my issues with Crowdjustice seeming to take the added fee, even though I deselected it. After the Allison Bailey debacle, I decided not to give them this, as they already take 3% of the total amount raised.

However, they have just sent me an email confirming the amount pledged which includes this fee. I contacted them to raise the issue, and they said it must have been an error on my part, and to screenshot if it happens again.

I won't know until it comes out of my account, but has this happened to anyone else?

InvisibleDragon · 27/05/2021 21:00

Payday happened. Have contributed compost. Lots more still needed.

I just pledged and immediately got a CrowdJustice ack from to say the amount I'd pledged and it made no mention of the fee (which I'd edited to nil when pledging). So that is fine for me. Did you get an ack email?

Update from Sonia on her Crowd Justice page...

"Update on Safeguarding Concerns at GIDS

Dear Donors,

My Crowd Justice Fund has reached just over 90k, which is beyond spectacular.

I owe you all a debt of gratitude for your kindness, generosity and support.

My claim is organised around the basic tenets of NHS safety being upheld in any service, and those who raise concerns about risks and safeguarding should not be vilified.

It has been correctly reported the trial starts on 14 June 2021. My legal team comprises of Mr Elliot Hammer, Branch Austin LLP and Ms Anya Palmer, Old Square Chambers.

Thank you all"
