Anyone else struck by the lack of acknowledgement of the blatant misogyny evident in the awful anti-semitic abuse shouted out on Finchley Road, London? No doubt this was religiously motivated and an awful hate crime for that alone. But I find it very telling that the media have ignored the casual but very deep misogyny in calling for the rape of female Jews to make the point. Speaks volumes about how the perpetrators see women as well as Jews. And yet, in a time when we keep being told violence towards women will not be tolerated, not one single MP or media outlet has commented on the incitement to sexual violence towards women in addition to the antisemitism.
