This is the problem, isn't it. People don't know about the issues because the media forbids us from seeing them discussed.

Wtness Barbie Kardashian stories all deleted, Twitter's continuuing war on women, Reddit's very questionable moderators, etc etc etc.

'No debate' still covers the internet, even if in real life people are talking about the issues more and more.

Reddit is interesting bc they can't quite squash all the dissent. Witness TumblrInAction

Would you say that what TumblrInAction is to mainstream Reddit, FWR is to the rest of Mumsnet?

I don't think there's any great driving ideology there, beyond the simple desire to be able to mock that which is not allowed to be mocked
