Join us Thursday at 11am Brussels time for #MigrantWomenRealityWatch 23 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐲𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐦 !

With us we will have

💁‍♀️Nayoung Kim-Park: feminist activist, writer, and attorney from Seoul, Korea;

💁‍♀️Rochelle : writer, co-founder and campaigner at Radicailín, migrants rights & refugee advocate;

💁‍♀️ Jutatip Talumassawat, Project Officer Oasis Belgium.

In light of the recent attacks towards Asian women in Atlanta (USA), framed as simple racist events, our guests will expand the scope of analysis and address the misogynistic racism and violence perpetrated against Asian women. Taking the Atlanta shootings as point of departure, we will be addressing the situation of Asian women in the sex trade, the thriving racism in it and prostitution as a racialized hate crime against women. From a feminist perspective, our guests will tackle the sexual exploitation of Asian women and girls under the frame of misogynistic racism.

Join us live 💥 LIVE 💥 Thursday 11am CET from this very same Facebook page!

Thank you for posting. I listened to some Asian women speaking about the racism and misogyny they suffer, last week on Woman’s hour. It was very informative and I’m glad they are being given a platform. We need to hear more about this in the general media.

Thanks for sharing. Sadly I won't be able to listen at that time but hopefully it's recorded and made available online afterwards. Maybe someone who's able to listen could do a bit of live tweeting or live thread updating if not? It sounds fascinating and it's such an important conversation. The way that misogyny was left out of the story in the Atlanta shootings was shocking, it absolutely needed to be understood in the context of the victims being Asian women not just Asian people.

Yes, I hope someone who is able to attend can tell us about the event. It looks pretty good.
