Well, Kirsty Blackman has finally said it. If a public board had 50% men and 50% trans women, then that would equate to the board being "gender balanced".

Well Kirsty being so disrespectful towards the 200 million girls and women alive today living with FGM

If a child perceived as being a girl was trafficked for FGM. like parents don’t know what sex their child is

Totally disrespectful

Proof of what happens when a person's brain rots from gender ideology.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/03/2021 13:45

How is she an MP? This is weapons grade levels of cluelessness.

Kit19 · 25/03/2021 13:46

so so tone deaf and privileged and yet so convinced she's on the right side of history

littlbrowndog · 25/03/2021 13:49

Being perceived as female is the root cause of oppression my arse, female foetuses aren't aborted in countries like China because they look female, they're aborted because they are female.

Kit19 · 25/03/2021 13:51

she has to be a deep plant double agent surely?? I mean no one could be this dim could they??

Kit19 · 25/03/2021 13:52

does Kirsty think women were denied the vote because they were "perceived to be female" rather than on the grounds of their sex?

do keep going Kirsty, you are doing our work for us

toffeebutterpopcorn · 25/03/2021 13:53

Kirsty isn't very bright. I'm not certain this isn't a parody account. I mean, come on...

AngeloMysterioso · 25/03/2021 13:55

Oh my fucking god is she having a laugh?!

DialSquare · 25/03/2021 13:55

Embarrassing.

toffeebutterpopcorn · 25/03/2021 13:56

I can only imagine the scenario if she was a relative or neighbour of mine.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 25/03/2021 13:56

The laugh's on women in Scotland, Angelo, sadly.

lifeturnsonadime · 25/03/2021 13:58

It is fantastic for sunlight though.

I just can't believe any woman can think like that. It's mind bending.

2021Vision · 25/03/2021 14:06

I guess you could say it is 'gender' balanced, if you believe in gender. it isn't sex balanced though and that's what is important. Yet again we see the issue with the use of 'gender' and 'sex'.

I notice she has a daughter, I can't imagine advocating someone trampling all over my daughters rights.

I am assuming (but I don't know) that what KB means by a "perceived girl" is a biologically female child with a male gender identity? (Who to prescribers of gender ideology IS a boy, mistakenly confused for a girl because of their female sex).
Rather than a bioligically male child who is trafficked for FGM because they identify as a girl and their family can't tell the difference.

The language used makes it so confusing to discuss, that I don't know for sure what she means.
Which is of course one of the problems caused by messing with language and definitions so much...

ANewCreation · 25/03/2021 14:08

I wonder if her male counterparts would be as enthusiastic about their representation if the board was 50% women and 50% transmen.
Of course, that scenario would literally never happen...

Babdoc · 25/03/2021 14:12

The SNP know perfectly well what a woman is, when they make us the only group not protected by their ludicrous hate crime bill.
And then have the gall to joke that we would be protected if we were “mistaken for a transwoman”.
Please vote these misogynist idiots out in May.

teawamutu · 25/03/2021 14:13

Dear god, the stupid... It burns my eyes...

And also boils my piss.

WindyPudding · 25/03/2021 14:13

Not many transwomen today are fully "perceived" to be female. A few pass but most are seen as trans, or just as men given that some do very little to make any kind of physical change at all. The fact that people will say TWAW doesn't mean they don't perceive their maleness.

And that's with modern/western medications and surgeries. Does she really think that the entire history of the patriarchy and worldwide patriarchy today has really been oppressing those who look female and that that's not almost entirely the same thing as those who are female?

I wonder how she'd feel if a public board/parliament/workplace had 50% men and 50% transwomen, and it gradually dawned that that means there was no place for her, or all the other women that would have liked to be there.

SquishySquirmy · 25/03/2021 14:14

That tweet where she asks if discrimination is ever sex based rather than because of "perceived sex...

Didn't she write that article in the blether just a month ago which had examples?

Someone should reply with a link to it.

Her examples of discrimination against women and girls is due to their actual sex and perceived gender.

WindyPudding · 25/03/2021 14:18

Ah Squishy thanks I hadn't considered that.

So that would mean a tomboy / GNC girl with male-like appearance wouldn't have been discriminated against by the patriarchy/misogyny? As according to genderism, that makes her a boy and it's only gender that counts?

As such a girl I was sometimes genuinely thought to be a boy, but only pre-puberty - after that my body and voice made it clear.

SquishySquirmy · 25/03/2021 14:23

Windypudding In your example she'd be a boy discriminated against by the patriarchy due to being perceived as a girl.
Likewise, a transwomen is not "perceived as a woman" if they "pass".
They ARE a woman, mistakenly perceived to be a man sometimes (often probably).

...I think.
(That's according to my understanding of TWAW)
