Whistleblower trying to protect transgender patients needs help

Sonia Appleby, who is still working as child safeguarding lead for GIDS despite the bullying she has been subjected to, is raising funds through Crowdjustice for her employment tribunal case.

Her main aim is trying to get GIDS to take child safeguarding seriously.

Sonia says because I made "protected disclosures" to my line manager regarding concerns raised by GIDS staff (that the health or safety of patients was being, had been or was likely to be endangered), I was subjected to detriments.

The Tavistock misused its own procedures to besmirch me and therefore jeopardize the role of safeguarding within the Trust. ... There was an unwritten but mandated directive from ... management that safeguarding concerns should not be brought to my attention despite my being the Trust Safeguarding Children Lead. And clinicians were discouraged from reporting safeguarding concerns to me.

Well worth supporting.

As Sonia says I am supportive of the transgender community and their right to seek services that are both supportive and safe.
