What questions should we be asking candidates in local elections?

Before I cast any vote, I want to see what responses I get to the key questions of the age. One of them is likely to be the Staniland question. If you have any others you plan on using, would you be willing to share here? It might be useful to have a resource for responses up and down the country.

At the very least we might start to see who is toeing the party line and who is willing to put independent thought on record.

Women's safety in public is topical now but the candidates aren't going to be announced for a month, I will definitelybe finalising questions closer to the time.

My local elections are the Scottish elections.

I will check the candidate opposes independence otherwise they can go a raffle themselves.

Ask them them what they will do to support children and young people to recover from this?.

How will they get the economy up and running especially focus on creating jobs?

What will they do to invest in education and the NHS?
