Gay conversion ban and hate crime bill are not coincidences

I know I'm preaching to the converted here, and sorry in advance for all the links, but after the Hate Crime bullsh!t in Scotland today it got me thinking how suddenly many countries are rushing to enact Hate Crime bills, as well as Gay Conversion Therapy bans. This can't be a coincidence:

Canada - www.huffpost.com/entry/canada-gay-conversion-therapy-ban-bill_n_5f766337c5b66377b27faa2e

Australia - www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-08/victoria-moves-to-ban-gay-conversion-practices/12851294

Ireland - www.thetimes.co.uk/article/gay-conversion-therapy-bill-must-not-be-forgotten-says-senator-8qghfr3mw

New Zealand - www.lawyersclubindia.com/news/new-zealand-to-ban-conversion-therapy-practices-18310.asp

Pressure for the UK to do the same - www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-56284422

Ireland is currently pushing through hate crime laws also -
gcn.ie/hate-crime-bill-2020/ - This one mentions transphobic bullying several times.

And Scotland obviously. There are probably loads more I have missed.

All countries who either have already enacted Self ID in the last few years, or are trying to.

On the surface, this all looks rosy - why not punish nasty hateful people, or outdated practices - but even though I don't usually believe in conspiracy theories, there is so much more behind the scenes here.

Both of these laws relate directly to trans issues. Gay conversion can therapy is being interpreted by some as any therapy which seeks to challenge a child with gender dysphoria. Does this mean that any psychological treatments will be banned for these children?

Hate crimes are now including perceived 'transphobia', does that mean that stating sex is real or some other truth could get you locked up for a hate crime?

This is seriously sinister if it is happening across several countries over the last few months or so. Is this how the TRA is trying to get us to stop talking, by labelling us as criminals?
Someone has been greasing the pockets of politicians to get all this pushed through.

Sorry for the long post but I feel so much despair lately at this policy capture - what can we do about this?

It is definitely not a coincidence.

To paraphrase something I read earlier - They cannot win the argument, so they make the argument into a crime.

Thanks Nonny, yes it seems as if they are attacking on all sides. It just feels so helpless, I have no idea what we can do to row this back, once it's in law, the way back is hard.

I'm in Ireland where people aren't even really talking about this, it's incredibly frustrating.

And people think Gilead is fiction...

I agree with you OP, I had the same conversation with my DH, who said I was becoming obsessed because the idea of powerful people moving in the shadows to push their own agenda is just the view of conspiracy theorists - and this from a man who has a history degree!
Is it really just an effect of living in a connected world or Is some one /org/ other seeking to benefit from pushing this narrative. It does seem a pefect way to keep some governments and their citizens otherwise engaged whilst you move your chess pieces into position ? Does the fact that the tactics now employed by many of these organisations differ from those previously adopted make sense or are they being groomed in some way. Are WE all being played ?

LGB rights I got and supported but the arguement now, asking us to suspend reality doesn’t even make evolutionary sense . But if you can hoodwink a country into accepting this then you can get them to accept anything!

Now I’m seeming liking a nut job; maybe the simple fact is that men are just misogynistic pricks.

I have zero doubt that the conversion therapy bills are trojan horses for pushing gender ID affirmation. Gay conversion therapy is a very minimal issue, certainly in the UK.

I saw all of the Canadian psyches like Blanchard and Zucker saying ages ago that that is clearly what they are, and they're very much not conspiracy types, they're very solid rational people.

Is this a conspiracy theory? I don't understand why they're doing what they're doing, but they clearly are. It is hardly in doubt that the gender ID activists want to push affirmation.
