I know I'm preaching to the converted here, and sorry in advance for all the links, but after the Hate Crime bullsh!t in Scotland today it got me thinking how suddenly many countries are rushing to enact Hate Crime bills, as well as Gay Conversion Therapy bans. This can't be a coincidence:

Pressure for the UK to do the same - www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-56284422
Ireland is currently pushing through hate crime laws also -
gcn.ie/hate-crime-bill-2020/ - This one mentions transphobic bullying several times.
And Scotland obviously. There are probably loads more I have missed.
All countries who either have already enacted Self ID in the last few years, or are trying to.
On the surface, this all looks rosy - why not punish nasty hateful people, or outdated practices - but even though I don't usually believe in conspiracy theories, there is so much more behind the scenes here.
Both of these laws relate directly to trans issues. Gay conversion can therapy is being interpreted by some as any therapy which seeks to challenge a child with gender dysphoria. Does this mean that any psychological treatments will be banned for these children?
Hate crimes are now including perceived 'transphobia', does that mean that stating sex is real or some other truth could get you locked up for a hate crime?
This is seriously sinister if it is happening across several countries over the last few months or so. Is this how the TRA is trying to get us to stop talking, by labelling us as criminals?
Someone has been greasing the pockets of politicians to get all this pushed through.
Sorry for the long post but I feel so much despair lately at this policy capture - what can we do about this?
