AoC Diversity training changes sex to gender

Hello

I'm wondering if anyone would help me write a complaint. I work in Education in HR and a colleague attended an Association of Colleges Diversity event and shared the material with me.

The have removed "sex" when talking about characteristics and replaced it with "gender". In training delivered on International Women's Day.

I want to write a complaint but could do with some help putting it together - I know MN has some great posters who can explain why sex matters succinctly so wondered if anyone could help (and also if anyone else would like to complain!)

Are they talking about the protected characteristics as set out in the equality act?

Not quite but it's implied. They refer to "characteristics" and provide a list have thrown in "class" but sex in nowhere to be seen. Just gender.

This is the list. Pregnancy and maternity isn't on there either

I would say that you think it would be really helpful to ensure people understood how the equality act protects the following characteristics (list them) ti help know they are supported by the law if they complain. Say that other things also impact on equality but it’s really important fir everyone ti know where they’re rights are protected in law
