How to ask election candidate their opinions on the GRC

I'm in Scotland. In my area there is an independent candidate running for the Scottish Parliament elections in May. I've long given up on the notion of supporting any of the major parties due to their blanket disregard for women's rights concerning the GRC in particular. This independent candidate is currently a local councillor and he is very active within the community. I have my doubts that he will actually win the election, but I'd like to find out his views on the GRC and where he stands on this matter. He's just posted on FB regarding IWD and I'd like to email him off the back of that to find out his opinions. Can anyone suggest a good way of phrasing the question in order to get as straight an answer as possible out of him and avoid the usual politician skirting-the-issue reply?
