Women in the work place

I feel lonely. In what I think is feminism. I always support women in whatever they want to do but I’m in business and that seems to run contrary. I have been, what I would call a feminist, from an early age. I have a child. I took six months off work to care for them and then my ex-husband took six months off work to care for my child. We are both professionals. After that year my child went to nursery. I understand women wanting to have a professional career alongside motherhood. I understand that PARENTS want to take a reasonable amount of time off to care for their children. I believe that either both parents should or they should divide it however that best works for them. But, why should I train and invest in women who want to ‘have a bit of a career’ before taking nigh on six years off to raise children before they go back to work part time once the kids start school. I’m inviting you all to explain to me why I’m not a feminist here. This is a business decision. For those women that want to have a bit of a flit before motherhood, is that a great business investment?
