Brighton secondaries schools and their messages about gender identity

Hi. We are starting to think about secondary schools for our daughter and want her to go somewhere she's going to have sensible messages about gender identity. Does anyone have any experience of the secondaries in Brighton as I know it's a fairly confused city in this sense.

Hi, I'm a Brighton resident, have children in primary. I think the capture is pretty well embedded, particularly in the popular and over-subscribed secondaries Dorothy Stringer and Varndean. No idea about the situation at the other secondaries or the private schools. It's a very woke city and the council is thoroughly captured so I don't hold out much hope of there being any sensible policy in any of them.

Try one of the faith schools - might not suit you but they are not run by the council.

What would happen if a parent contradicted the gender ideology teachings? Are the parents allowed to know the specifics of what's being taught? Are students tested on this? Are 'wrong' answers permitted in their belief system?

I know of one of the schools you mention. they have been reasonably receptive to the Transgender Trend stuff I've shared with them. but their hands are tied by the council, which have refused to withdraw the Toolkit. I don't know the specifics of what is being taught, though I have asked.

Don't choose Patcham High School - it is seriously captured and much worse than either Dorothy Stringer or Varndean.

We have already completely ruled out Patcham. I think our first choice will be one of the faith schools but we don't live close to either of them so not sure of our chances getting her a place.

Cardinal Newman? I don't think you have to be Catholic to go there. Might be better than the rest because it's traditionally conservative from what I recall.

What is the 'toolkit'? Any idea where I can find out some more about this?

Allsorts have produced this 'toolkit' that all schools in Brighton use (it is also used as the basis for many others)

I don't think even the faith schools in Brighton have escaped gender ideology. I know Cardinal Newman has had workshops with Allsorts. I would suggest you ask each school specifically what their policy is and not assume that faith schools are safe.
