Poland and South Carolina: Abortion Bans

It happened in Poland and now South Carolina, US. There's a very reactionary anti-abortion surge and it's scares me because in the US this same contingent is the only one speaking up loudly against males in women's and girls' sports. It's so depressing that the it's right of centre or right wing press criticising gender ideology, or Christian press being really damning - but at the same time they are pro-life/anti-choice or pro surrogacy and 'sex work'. I guess we can't have it all in the truest sense - we can't have a platform or a political party we can agree with so we are disenfranchised and have to climb ever single fucking step with this load on our backs....and the rest.

What strange bedfellows we must choose between and I'm so tired.

Yes, scary, absolutely. Weary and worried for my daughter, and all the girls and women facing all the battles we thought were over.

It's all too depressing to think about sometimes. Women and girls are being squeezed from both sides and we have all the pandemic stuff to contend with.

Abortion won’t stop, it will just be driven to the backstreets. Women will be injured or die because of this. Tragic.

There was a time when I thought the phrase "war on women" was a bit exaggerated. Sadly it's now absolutely correct.
