Article by Debbie Hayton. I know some people have mixed feelings on DH but the article is good and I confess I didn’t know about the situation in Spain.

[Warning added by MNHQ: graphic descriptions in linked article]

I asked a Spanish friend maybe a year/18 months ago about the situation in Spain. She didn't seem to know what I was talking about and brushed it off as something not relevant there.

I might try asking again.

It seems to be happening without many being aware... radical feminists who do know are sidelined by the left and described as feminazis. The left alliances are fragile and concerned with keeping out the right parties. At a local level it is possible to engage with specific issues when they arise..eg in schools. Most people genuinely are concerned about the dangers of returning to a fascist state, but are so liberal that literally anything goes, especially around women’s rights and prostitution .

Just FYI there's a graphic description of torture in the opening paragraphs.

Sorry yes I will ask MNHQ to amend the thread title.

Is she very well known in Spain? Is she household name? Are the press covering?

I wouldn't say the feelings were mixed at all.

I wouldn't say the feelings were mixed at all.

I think 'stark and clear' would be a better description.

Angryresister · 23/01/2021 14:10

Manderlay if you are referring to Lidia Falcon, then the Left know very well. In the European elections the Feminist Party had 30000 votes and 21 in our small town ( still trying to find the voters!) no idea if DH is known but agree with tinsel

ARoombaOfOnesOwn · 23/01/2021 14:41

Fair point, Tinsel and Bunting. I think I meant posters have differing views on DH, I didn’t express that well.

Whilst I have reservations about Debbie, that’s a useful article

RozWatching · 23/01/2021 15:12

Raquel Rosario Sánchez interviewed her recently:

Tbh I find the description completely unnecessary. It's just plonked there at the beginning of the article, in quotes with no source.
