When judges express surprise, it’s worth paying attention. The word “surprising” occurs several times in this week’s High Court judgment on children given hormone-blocking drugs and changing gender. This should prompt a much wider debate about the unanswered and often unasked questions underpinning the recent growth in the number of children being treated for gender issues.
