Why won't the media name male violence?

Great article from David Challen here asking why the media continuously skirt around the subject of male violence when reporting domestic abuse cases: www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2020/11/10/the-media-has-failed-to-hold-violent-men-to-account/

Very interesting article. It's relentless isn't it?
I first realised how prevalent male violence was after binge watching forensic files on Netflix. So many similar stories of jealous and controlling men. The news often makes out like it's a rare occurance. So many domestic violence murders never make it beyond local news so I guess it's harder for people to join the dots.

But also, it's the way these are reported "she plotted to end his marriage!", etc. FFS no! "He murdered her in cold blood" is the appropriate way to report it. Always looking for a way to blame the woman for her own murder

‘He was such a good/doting dad...’

I know, right! "His mum said he was such a good boy and was never any bother..."

I'm always appalled when I read about "honour killings". It's murder.

It’s quite a surprise when you read a neighbour say ‘he was a horrible, nasty, aggressive pig and we all avoided him’. I can only remember report one recently that said something like that.

He was such a good/doting dad

There was a terrible case in Ireland where a man murdered his wife and young family - was described as a devout family man and was buried with the children who he murdered - until the in-laws managed to have him removed from the plot.

Sickening.

Oh god yes I remember that. And that creature in Australia (? Football player wasn’t be?) who set fire to the car with his family in it.

The term "Honor killing" is similar to "Crime of passion" .... very misleading and deranged
