Learning about women on French radio

So French national radio this morning was talking about a medical condition that affects women more badly than men - because of a difference in women's bodies (women's lungs are more easily damaged). The medical woman explained this and then went on to mention pregnancy, using the phrase "as of course pregnancy only happens to women".
All of this struck me as something that we would probably not hear said on BBC radio anymore. I know that wokeism is creeping into France and other countries on the continent. Do people think that they will soon become like the UK or, worse, the US or Canada. Or will some sense prevail there?

I don’t have any particular insight but reading your post it stuck me the BBC as ‘National’ broadcaster has altogether too much ability to change how things are discussed in this country.
