My chats disabled Confused

chilling19 · 03/11/2020 18:58

They have just asked us to put stuff in the chat but have disabled it. Silenced again.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 03/11/2020 18:59

Haha can someone write 'chat is disabled'on a big bit of paper?

Newjobnewslob · 03/11/2020 19:01

Anyone brave enough to shout out that chat is disabled for many?

IheartJKR · 03/11/2020 19:01

Wonder who muted that chat? I had my hand up again and again, and it kept being put down. Hmm

I signed up but missing it 😔

I hope there is a recording, I really wanted to hear this.

chilling19 · 03/11/2020 19:23

That was really good

OP posts:
Cazziebo · 03/11/2020 19:24

That was good. Excellent speaker - I'd imagine it's pretty tough keeping that level of energy up for that length of time. Looking forward to reading the book

Newjobnewslob · 03/11/2020 19:25

Covered:
GRA and GC issues
Trump threads
Westministenders
Brexit arms

That's about covered the boards I visit!

It would have been nice to have some person to person discussion rather than all through chat IMO, but I can see why they stuck with the safer format

MaMaLa321 · 03/11/2020 19:26

that was good. I think the chat glitch was a genuine mistake, but I di get a question through

Berthatydfil · 03/11/2020 19:36

Really enjoyed it

senua · 03/11/2020 19:49

She discussed biscuitgate. Apparently Gordon Brown didn't answer the biscuit question because he wasn't reading the MN thread himself so he never saw it. He had a Spad who was picking out the questions for him and didn't relay the mounting biscuit-frustration.
Then Sarah answered questions picked by the RGU host. Ironic!

Anyways, thanks to Sarah and to RGU for being brave enough to host it.

morningtoncrescent62 · 03/11/2020 19:50

That was good. I thought it was a pity they didn't have a discussant on, to take the pressure off Sarah a bit. It seemed like a grilling, though I thought she did extremely well with all those quick fire questions. I thought it was a pity that they didn't have attendee chat on properly, just comments to the hosts and co-hosts. Sarah's great to listen to, and I thought she conveyed great respect for the women of Mumsnet.

OT a bit, but she got me thinking that I've now moved into the gransnet demographic (yikes) even if neither of my daughters look like having children of their own any time soon. I've never visited gransnet , much less thought about joining it, so I just went and had a look. The picture on the opening page doesn't appeal to me at all.

Merename · 03/11/2020 20:00

Enjoyed what I heard but had to stop to put kids to bed, the timing was not chosen well for the mumz with young kids! It was being recorded so hope there may be a recording linked to after. I ordered the book. I agree she spoke with respect about the women of mumsnet and it felt inspiring to hear of the role MN plays in current feminism.

She's just tweeted it will be available later. Will try & catch up on it. I thought she was v good on womens hour.

YetAnotherFWRlurker · 03/11/2020 20:04

I really enjoyed it. Audio was a bit glitchy but I think I heard something about getting a 30% discount on the book. Looking back through my emails, I don't think I have any info about this. Does anyone else know where/which shop please?
