Babies being removed from mothers during remote hearings

This report is so sad. Women are 'attending' hearings by telephone in hospital after birth and finding out their baby is being removed. Unlike pre-covid they are not necessarily represented by counsel.

Sad

Thats barbaric. How can they do that knowing that so many don't even understand whats going on. Tax payers will be paying to "fix" the mum and the baby fir life . No i don't begrudge the money at all I just mean that something that entails a long term cost of trying to fix the damage that will be done by ripping the baby away from its mother, would surly long term end up being more than it would cost to ensure adequate legal representation?

Something this detrimental to the people involved should be done right.
