Women be proud, a positive story

I thought some of you may appreciate this, given the negative things which are happening to women at the moment. On 17th October, a Qatar Airways Boeing 787, entirely crewed by women, carried out a certification flight, where they mapped out a ribbon in the sky to raise awaereness of breast cancer - #ThinkPink flight.

Cool! I love planes & air travel, despite the discomfort often involved.

Had one of my best feminist mothering moments last year when, excited, I pointed out the female captain on our Delta plane to my young daughters... and they just shrugged. To them it seemed perfectly natural and unremarkable that she was in that position of authority over and responsibility for the 200 souls on board.
