There have been some threads about finding a lot of social media disheartening - and worse.

So I thought I would start this thread to list online events that aren't about scoring points or whatever.

Not all Gender Critical, but may be of interest because of links to women's issues.

And of course please add others you know of.

Hi OP the link isn't working on the first one. I'm definitely interested in any such online events... as so many things seem to be London centric or if not big city centric, having online events will make them actually accessible for me. If there is anything else which has happened that I've missed that I might be able to access, I'd be interested in any of those too.

These webinars have kept me going over the summer...some are attracting gender critical feminists from all over the world. While it is frightening to see the same shit being peddled everywhere the resistance is coming . Fantastic to be able to see and hear such powerful women, and a few from the old days too.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 04/10/2020 23:55

Thanks, Stumbledin.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2020 23:57

I was just nodding off when I saw the MyMindBlown post.

Sorry - hope this one is right us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Mq9EMIAbTkyNz5gAx4l2DQ?fbclid=IwAR1lbdimRC1i4sVDb5pddtAoUb7WlYLZF6RuQl2PNo3FEBoY3h_u1Is0IjE

Should have kept a list. Just did this as a last minute thing.

Hope others will add others. Especially for local women to meeting up.

I'd also recommend checking out The Parliament Project's virtual events - advice for women interested in getting into politics. Not politically affiliated so they have advice re all the main parties and standing as an independent. Also peer support circles: www.parliamentproject.co.uk/

Manderleyagain · 05/10/2020 09:40

Great thread idea OP.

TheFleegleHasLanded · 05/10/2020 12:50

This is tonight, it''s free and you do not need to be a party member to attend. Sam Smethers is speaking....

TheFleegleHasLanded · 05/10/2020 21:47

Well that was interesting; women got kicked out for

a) asking for a definition of 'woman' (the words 'woman', 'women' and the phrase 'the female experiece' had been used numerous time at this point) and

b) asking the Fawcett Society if they stood by their previous position in agreeing with Sal Brinton that 50% women and 50% 'transwomen' in parliament was equality.
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3365084-fawcett-society

So that was fun...

HecatesCat · 05/10/2020 22:13

a) asking for a definition of 'woman' (the words 'woman', 'women' and the phrase 'the female experiece' had been used numerous time at this point)

Did they give any sort of answer?

TheFleegleHasLanded · 05/10/2020 22:27

@HecatesCat

a) asking for a definition of 'woman' (the words 'woman', 'women' and the phrase 'the female experiece' had been used numerous time at this point)

Did they give any sort of answer?

What do you reckon?

a) No
or
b) Hell no

HecatesCat · 05/10/2020 22:44

🤔

stumbledin · 05/10/2020 23:30

What have I missed??!!

Maybe someone who was online can start a thread on this as I think quite a few would like to know what Fawcett did or did not say but wont be checking this thread.
