I saw this and found it grim. Where the dignity here and who exactly was this targeted to? Women???? If I was a female politician I would say 'fuck no' to this. Behind those smiles there is something patronising and quite sexists about this campaign. What next? Female politicians doing vintage pin-up calendars?? I would sort of get it for some kind of breast cancer awareness campaign, but anything else is just off.

This thing where the way for women to get attention for activism etc is to take their clothes off is so depressing.

Well that told them! Confused

“Immediately when I heard the term naked ballots, and being a woman in the male-dominated environment of politics, where they are always trying to control our bodies, I thought, ‘Why not take some control back? And also get the voters’ attention,” Hallam told the Guardian."

And so she stripped, rather than waiting for the men to tell her to strip?

Hilarious.

Where are the male politicians stripping for this cause? Are these three women even recruiting them?

I'm trying to see it from another perspective. Maybe they feel they live in a very conservative place where people don't like women even breastfeeding in public, so this was meant to 'get back' at that attitude. Maybe I'm grasping at straws here?
