Just having an idle Monday browse...
uk.whatjobs.com/job/head-of-finance-863

It's got gender identity and transgender status, but not sex.
Worth me contacting them to remind them of the Equality Act, do you think?

Health Education England is committed to recruiting the best person for the job, based solely on their ability and individual merit as measured against the criteria for the role; through a process that is fair, open, consistent and free from discrimination. Health Education England supports the values and pledges of the NHS Constitution.

We are committed to being a diverse and an inclusive employer and will build a culture where all employees are valued, respected and acknowledged. We strive to ensure that no individual receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of their gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion or belief, colour, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, pregnancy and maternity, marital or civil partnership status, transgender status, HIV status, social background, trade union membership or non-membership and is placed at a disadvantage by requirements or conditions that cannot be shown to be justifiable.

From that I'd infer they do very clearly discriminate on the basis of sex...

Helmetbymidnight · 21/09/2020 15:57

the absence of sex says so much...

shocking.

persistentwoman · 21/09/2020 16:05

Health EDUCATION England - and no mention of sex.

Our poor daughters....

PurpleHoodie · 21/09/2020 16:18

Definitely worth reminding them of the law.

OhHolyJesus · 21/09/2020 16:43

Yes, do contact them.

EyesOpening · 21/09/2020 16:54

yes but I'd only refer to the lack of sex as a PC (as laid out in the EA2010) not the addition of anything else

ThinEndoftheWedge · 21/09/2020 17:15

Gender identity AND transgender status??!!! The most discriminated and vulnerable group ever has two inclusions - both of which are not protected characteristics. Gender reassignment and sex are.

I think it’s important to reiterate the actual list - otherwise by definition and legally, they are being discriminatory.

Another addition to file under the heading of ‘captured morons’.

DeaconBoo · 21/09/2020 18:01

I don't think there's anything wrong with them specifying more categories - that's their own policy, they're not claiming it's anything that it isn't.

It's the incredibly conspicuous- by- its- absence legally mandated one that's the issue.

stella47 · 21/09/2020 19:14

Ha, they've added so many bits that by the end they've forgotten the beginning, so it doesn't make sense as a sentence. Yes, I'd remind them that they've forgotten sex. And grammar.

EyesOpening · 21/09/2020 19:26

@EyesOpening

yes but I'd only refer to the lack of sex as a PC (as laid out in the EA2010) not the addition of anything else
and I'd also include a written list of PCs and the link to it (www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/15/part/2/chapter/1)
McDuffy · 21/09/2020 19:37

Thanks all. I'm only going to mention the missing one and link to the act!

I guess they've also forgotten what the job is, or even that they need a person to fill the postGrin We pay our taxes for this junk
OldCrony · 22/09/2020 09:04

Utter fucking captured morons.

wellbehavedwomen · 22/09/2020 09:05

I think some muppet has replaced sex with gender identity, because some muppet doesn't understand that the law isn't a creative exercise, where you can amend at will.

McDuffy · 22/09/2020 18:36

I've emailed so will report back if I get a response!

Becoming way too common. Fair enough add in extra bits you care about not discriminating based on, but the wholesale removal of sex...fucking annoying. Its one of the protected characteristics, whether you like it or not..
