A sobering read.

Not the solution for all the issues, but perhaps we should provide everyone - male and female - with self-contained places to stay. No-one should have to live in a 'shelter'.

Better facilities yes, and self-contained with communal spaces would be good. Wish there was £milllions for women, it's badly needed

Plantlife bless you. It must be really tough. I have been in a very similar situation due to domestic abuse but didn’t go into a refuge. Do you have anyone you can talk to?

The shelter in the article sounds terrible and very unsafe. It sounds like they are sharing sleeping accommodation (with men).

This is in the US though I hope no shelters in the uk are like this.
